Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones (different colors)
  • 20x20 playing area
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area with cones spread randomly throughout
  2. Group: 1 player starts jogging around the area performing dynamic stretches
  3. Equipment: Multiple cones of different colors spread randomly across the 20x20 area, arranged singly, in pairs, or in triples to signal assigned movements
Instructions
  1. Players jog around the coned area using dynamic stretches.
  2. Move to assigned cone tasks:
  3. - Execute four lateral hops at single cones.
  4. - Perform two lateral side steps at double cones.
  5. - Perform one forward high knee at triple cones.
  6. Gradually increase the intensity and speed of movements.
Coaching Points
  • Ensure regular hydration during the warm-up.
  • Encourage effective communication.
  • Gradually increase movement intensity.
  • Observe players' first touch and movement quality.
  • Focus on player engagement and concentration.
  • Warm-ups should transition smoothly into the main session.
  • Warm-ups must be enjoyable and session-relevant.
  • Players should understand the significance of proper warm-up.
  • Encourage good habits for physical and mental preparation.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the speed of movements between cones.
2. Introduce a competitive element, timing each player's section completion.
Make it easier:
1. Reduce the distance between cones for easier transitions.
2. Allow walking or slow jogging to the cones instead of fast movements.
