Equipment
- Three cones
- Soccer balls
- Marked 25x20 yard area
Setup
- Area: 25x20 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: Three cone goals arranged in a triangle at the centre of the area
- Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts spaced evenly across the area outside the central triangle
- Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts spaced evenly across the area outside the central triangle
- Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned inside the central triangle defending all three cone goals
- Equipment: Three cones arranged in a triangle at the centre of the area, soccer balls for play
Instructions
- Teams maintain possession by completing passes.
- After five successful passes, teams can attempt to score through one of the cone goals.
- Normal football rules apply, encouraging switching play to create opportunities.
- The goalkeeper defends all sides of the triangle.
Coaching Points
- Encourage effective communication.
- Ensure players create space by moving off the ball.
- Focus on optimal angles and distances for support.
- Promote quick and smart decision-making.
- Emphasize quality of passing: accuracy, timing, and disguise.
- Maintain awareness of passing options and player positioning.
- Encourage continuous ball movement.
- Observe from the sidelines to provide feedback.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the triangle size to increase difficulty for attackers.
2. Limit the number of touches per player.
3. Introduce an additional defender inside the triangle.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the triangle's size for easier scoring.
2. Allow unlimited touches for more control.
3. Add an extra player to the attacking team to create overloads.
