  • Two soccer balls
Setup
  1. Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: One 2-yard wide gate goal centred on each of the 4 sides of the area
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts inside the area holding one of the two balls
  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts inside the area holding the other ball
  5. Neutral: 4 yellow goalkeepers, one positioned on the goal line of each of the 4 gate goals, forming a separate goalkeeper team defending all goals
  6. Equipment: Cones marking the 30x30 yard area boundary and the 2-yard wide gate goal on each of the 4 sides, plus two soccer balls
Instructions
  1. Start with one ball in each team.
  2. Outfield teams play against each other aiming to score in any goal with a first-time finish.
  3. The team that scores the most goals within the set time chooses to defend or attack in the next round.
Coaching Points
  • Promote constant communication between players.
  • Encourage maintaining good support angles and distances.
  • Emphasize quick decision-making on and off the ball.
  • Focus on a good first touch and keeping the head up.
  • Encourage effective movement and quality passing (accuracy, timing, disguise).
  • Support effectively and shape the body correctly.
  • Encourage the ball to keep moving.
  • Emphasize spreading out to create space.
  • Foster awareness and decision-making regarding passing options.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Introduce a one-touch restriction for passing.
2. Decrease the size of the gate, making scoring more challenging.
Make it easier:
1. Allow players to score in the same goal consecutively.
2. Increase the playing area to provide more space.
3. Use only one ball to reduce complexity.
