Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls (one per player)
  • Cones/Markers (to define a 20x20-meter area)
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player (minimum) spaced evenly across the area, each with a ball
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 20x20 yard area, one ball per player
Instructions
  1. Players dribble freely in the marked area, practicing the Redondo Turn.
  2. Encourage players to stop the ball with the sole and pivot, maintaining ball control.
  3. Begin with stationary practice, then move to dribbling while performing the skill.
  4. Gradually increase speed, adding disguise and fakes.
  5. Implement decision-making scenarios for when to use the move in games.
Coaching Points
  • Accelerate after the turn.
  • Maintain close control.
  • Use disguise effectively.
  • Keep your head up for awareness.
  • Apply correct technique and speed.
  • Time the move appropriately.
  • Bend knees slightly for balance.
  • Develop game awareness for optimal use of the move.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Include defenders to apply pressure.
2. Introduce a time limit for each turn.
3. Reduce the playing area for increased difficulty.
Make it easier:
1. Allow more space for dribbling with fewer players.
2. Conduct the drill at a slower pace without time constraints.
3. Focus on using one foot initially before progressing to both feet.
