  • Poles
  • Goals

Setup
  1. Area: Open area in front of goal, shooting distance adjusted based on players' skill and age
  2. Goals: One goal marked by two poles, centred in the area
  3. Group: 2 outfield players start facing the goal, positioned equidistant from the goalkeeper on either side at the adjusted shooting distance
  4. Group GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line between the two poles
  5. Equipment: 2 poles marking the goal posts, footballs stacked near each outfield player's position for continuous supply
Instructions
  1. Players take turns striking the ball towards the goal.
  2. Focus on maintaining accuracy before adding power.
  3. After a shot, players collect another ball to maintain practice flow.
  4. Encourage variation in shooting techniques and the use of both feet.
Coaching Points
  • Emphasize accuracy over power in shots.
  • Encourage players to strike positively with heads up.
  • Focus on the quality of the finish, adapting distances as needed.
  • Ensure shots consistently hit the target.
  • Promote using both feet for strikes.
  • Encourage repeated practice for technique consistency.
  • Teach proper shooting posture, including standing foot direction.
  • Players should take time to re-set for precision.
  • Demonstrate techniques to reinforce learning.
  • Monitor players' ability to vary shooting styles.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the distance between the players and the goal.
2. Introduce a time limit for each attempt.
Make it easier:
1. Decrease the distance between shooters and goal.
2. Allow players to take a controlled touch before shooting.
