Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • - 20x20 yard practice area
  • - Balls for each player
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area
  2. Group: 1 black player starts in their own space within the area with a ball under the sole of their right foot
  3. Equipment: cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area
Instructions
  1. Players pull the ball back to the left instep using the right sole.
  2. Alternate the movement by using the left sole to pull the ball back to the right instep.
  3. Continue this motion to create a backward zigzag pattern.
  4. Encourage players to increase speed and rhythm over time.
  5. Start with a stationary ball, then increase speed.
  6. Introduce additional moves or combine techniques for advanced players.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close control of the ball.
  • Keep head up while performing the move.
  • Focus on smooth technique and speed.
  • Keep knees slightly bent and stay light on feet.
  • Develop rhythm in movements.
  • Gradually increase the fluency and speed.
  • Master each feint or move as a distinct technique.
  • Improve touch and feel for the ball.
  • Enhance balance, coordination, and spatial awareness.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the speed requirement.
2. Combine with additional ball manipulation techniques.
3. Add a time limit for completing the sequence.
Make it easier:
1. Allow for a slower pace and more time to complete the move.
2. Practice with a stationary ball until players gain confidence.
3. Provide guided demonstrations and feedback to assist learning.
