Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls
  • Cones or markers
  • 35x25 yard space
Setup
  1. Area: 35x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Red: 4 red outfield players start in the center of the area for the 4v4 match
  3. Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players start in the center of the area for the 4v4 match
  4. Neutral: 4 black rebound players positioned equidistant around the perimeter of the area
  5. Equipment: Cones or markers marking the 35x25 yard area, multiple balls spread around the field
Instructions
  1. Players in the middle aim to dribble towards an outside rebound player.
  2. Once at a rebound player, they perform a 1-2 pass with them and then change direction.
  3. A point is scored after completing the 1-2 and freeing up space.
  4. First team to score three points remains on the pitch while the losing team swaps with the outside players.
Coaching Points
  • Disguise movements and use a good first touch.
  • Keep your head up and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Move the ball into open space away from opponents' legs.
  • Accelerate effectively and use proper technique.
  • Make decisions swiftly and choose appropriate dribbling techniques.
  • Ensure team movement creates space for dribbling.
  • Effectively control the ball under pressure and protect possession.
  • Encourage 1v1 creation and 2v1 overloads.
  • Coordinate as a team to direct the ball toward rebound players.
  • Create space to receive and turn, enhancing dribbling technique.
  • Encourage players to buy time on the ball by spacing out.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase difficulty.
2. Limit the number of touches players can take before reaching a rebound player.
3. Require two successful 1-2 plays before scoring.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area to reduce pressure.
2. Allow players unlimited touches before reaching a rebound player.
3. Add extra rebound players to make 1-2 opportunities more available.
