Setup
- Area: 22x22 yard area (adjustable based on player numbers)
- Group: 2 red outfield players, each standing on their own cone spaced evenly around the circular formation, assigned matching animal names so at least two share the same name
- Equipment: 2 cones arranged in a circle, one cone per player, plus 1 optional ball for dribbling between cones
Instructions
- Call out an animal name, prompting those players to swap positions with another player of the same name.
- Call "feeding time" for all players to run to a different cone.
- Add a ball for players to dribble while moving to the next cone if appropriate.
- Encourage speed and fun by occasionally using incorrect calls to test focus.
Coaching Points
- Maintain player engagement and enthusiasm.
- Encourage spatial awareness within the play area.
- Focus on close ball control if using a ball.
- Ensure all players participate actively.
- Emphasize the game's fun aspect.
- Utilize the game itself as a teaching tool.
