Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones (for 25x20 yard area)
  • Two goals (5 yards apart)
  • Soccer balls
Setup
  1. Area: 25x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: Two goals positioned 5 yards apart on one end line of the area
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts with the ball outside the area
  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts towards the edge of the area
  5. Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned centrally between the two goals
  6. Equipment: Cones marking the 25x20 yard area, two goals set 5 yards apart on one end line, soccer balls for starting possession
Instructions
  1. The defender passes to the attacker and overlaps them.
  2. Both players enter the central area at the same time.
  3. The attacker aims to score quickly in either goal, keeping the defender from regaining the ball.
  4. Swap roles after each turn, repeating the sequence.
Coaching Points
  • Prioritize accuracy over power when shooting.
  • Stay positive and decisive with movements.
  • Use correct striking technique.
  • Keep your head up to survey the field.
  • Focus on delivering a quality finish.
  • Make your play unpredictable to challenge the defender.
  • Choose the appropriate shooting option.
  • Emphasize positive play in 1v1s.
  • Decide where and when to shoot.
  • Maintain strength and control on the ball.
  • Demonstrate from various angles; pause play to highlight key moments.
  • Encourage controlled, fast-paced attacking.
  • Consistently demonstrate good technique.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce goal size.
2. Limit the attacker's time to take a shot.
3. Add a second defender to create a 2v1 scenario.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the distance between the goals.
2. Allow the attacker more time before the defender engages.
3. Use larger goals to improve scoring chances.
