Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
- Balls (one per player)
- Cones (to mark playing area)
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 1 player starts inside the area with a ball
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners/perimeter of the 20x20 yard area, 1 ball per player
Instructions
- Players dribble their ball within the marked area, imagining 'sticky glue' on their shoes to keep close control. If the ball strays too far, players must perform three toe taps to regain control.
Coaching Points
- Encourage continuous dribbling with close ball control.
- Promote spatial awareness and maintaining space between players.
- Use different parts of the foot to maneuver the ball.
- Focus on dribbling at varied speeds.
- Foster an enjoyable and age-appropriate atmosphere.
- Let the game guide learning through play.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Add more players to increase traffic.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow players to re-glue without doing toe taps.
