Equipment
  • Cones
  • Goalkeeper

Setup
  1. Area: 18-yard box (penalty area)
  2. Goals: One standard goal on the end line of the 18-yard box
  3. Team Red: 2 red outfield players (servers) lined up behind one set of cones inside the box, each holding a ball
  4. Team Blue: 2 blue outfield players (finishers) lined up behind the opposing set of cones inside the box, facing the servers
  5. Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the goal being attacked
  6. Equipment: Two lines of cones set up inside the 18-yard box marking the servers' line and the finishers' line, with space left on both sides for players to swap roles and sides
Instructions
  1. Servers deliver a quality throw to the opposing players.
  2. Players volley the ball towards the goal, focusing on accuracy and power.
  3. Rotate roles after each attempt.
  4. Switch sides periodically to promote using the opposite foot.
  5. Continue the drill, providing feedback on technique and execution.
Coaching Points
  • Focus on accuracy before power.
  • Stay positive and keep your head up.
  • Deliver quality finishes.
  • Encourage repetition and shooting technique.
  • Aim to always hit the target.
  • Use both feet for balanced development.

Make it harder:
1. Increase the distance for volleys.

Make it easier:
1. Shorten the distance for volleys.
2. Remove the goalkeeper for confidence-building.
3. Allow the ball to bounce before striking.
