Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • 1 goal
  • 1 goalkeeper
  • Multiple cones for gates and setup
  • 6 balls
Setup
  1. Area: 30x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: One goal with goalkeeper centred on one end line, flanked by a 2-yard wide cone gate on either side
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts at the goal end, defending the goal and gates before countering to attack the cone balls at the far end
  4. Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line at the goal end
  5. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts at the opposite end of the area beside the three ball-topped cones, attacking toward the goal and gates
  6. Equipment: 3 cones spaced 1 yard apart at the end opposite the goal, each topped with a ball, plus 4 cones forming a 2-yard wide gate on each side of the goal, and 3 additional balls for the attacking team to shoot with
Instructions
  1. Red team tries to score through either cone gate or past the goalkeeper, earning points as specified.
  2. Blue team defends, then counters to hit the balls off cones for points.
  3. Rotate teams to attack at each end for a set time.
  4. Team with the most points after attacking both ends wins.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage clear communication among players.
  • Maintain good angles and distances for support.
  • Make early decisions both on and off the ball.
  • Focus on the first touch and control.
  • Keep head up for awareness.
  • Promote positive attacking mindset.
  • Provide quick support for teammates.
  • Use effective body shape when receiving or passing.
  • Explore forward passing options.
  • Keep ball movement fluid and precise.
  • Adapt passing angles based on situation.
  • Analyze and adjust team play from the sideline when necessary.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the playing area to require more stamina and positioning skills.
2. Limit the time allowed to score for added pressure.
Make it easier:
1. Reduce the number of balls on cones for blue team to hit.
2. Allow red team more time to score to ease pressure.
