Setup
- Area: 25x25 yard area with a 10x10 yard square marked within it
- Goals: One mini goal at one end of the area
- Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player (attacker) starts facing the defender across the 10x10 square, ball in possession
- Team Red: 1 red outfield player (defender) starts facing the attacker across the 10x10 square
- Equipment: 2 cones placed inside the mini goal, additional cones marking the corners of the 10x10 square and the 25x25 area boundary
Instructions
- Players pass to each other for at least five passes.
- Defender must touch one of the cones before engaging the attacker.
- Attacker uses the space to dribble towards the mini goal and attempt to score.
- Swap roles after each play.
- Adjust workload and duration based on players' fitness.
Coaching Points
- Ensure intensity appropriately challenges players.
- Maintain a balance between overload and recovery.
- Progress training by adjusting duration or intensity.
- Emphasize speed and endurance development.
- Adapt coaching to individual player needs.
- Enable players to handle fatigue and sustain performance.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the distance between the cones inside the mini goal.
2. Reduce the size of the attacking space to increase defender pressure.
Make it easier:
1. Allow attacker more time to dribble and decide before the defender can engage.
2. Use larger cones as targets to make scoring easier.
