- Cones for boundary marking
- Four small goals (two on each end)
- Footballs
- Bibs for team identification
Setup
- Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: Four small goals, two positioned on each end line
- Team Red: 4 red outfield players start spaced evenly across the area, no goalkeeper
- Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players start spaced evenly across the area, no goalkeeper
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners and boundary of the 30x30 area, four small goals positioned two on each end line, footballs, bibs for team identification
Instructions
- Teams play 4v4 aiming to score in any of the four goals.
- Encourage dribbling past opponents rather than long shots.
- Normal rules apply; defenders can't use hands.
- Focus on quick decision-making and support from teammates.
Coaching Points
- Use angles for effective support.
- Maintain close control during dribbles.
- Decide when to dribble, pass, or shield.
- Support teammates effectively.
- Exhibit a positive and aggressive mindset.
- Execute dribbles with proper technique.
- Improve spatial awareness for team play.
- Shield the ball under pressure.
- Utilize both feet for dribling and control.
- Change direction swiftly when challenged.
- Choose the correct technique based on situations.
- Communicate effectively with teammates.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area size for quicker decision-making.
2. Limit the number of touches per player to increase difficulty.
3. Introduce a time limit to score after gaining possession.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area to give more space.
2. Allow a neutral player to always play for the team with the ball.
3. Permit more than one attempt at scoring in the same play phase.
