  • Cones (to mark the playing area)
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Red: 1 red outfield player (Fish group) starts dribbling a ball freely within the area
  3. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player (Chips group) starts dribbling a ball freely within the area
  4. Equipment: cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard playing area, one ball per player positioned at each player's feet within the area
Instructions
  1. Players dribble freely within the area, maintaining close ball control.
  2. On the coach's shout of 'Fish and Chips,' players quickly find a partner from the opposite group to form a pair.
  3. The last pair to form must perform a trick or exercise of their choice.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage constant movement and communication.
  • Emphasize close ball control and use of different foot surfaces.
  • Promote awareness of space and other players.
  • Foster enjoyment and enthusiasm for participation.
  • Allow the game to guide learning and creativity.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the size of the playing area to challenge speed and endurance.
2. Limit dribbling to weaker foot only.
Make it easier:
1. Reduce the playing area to simplify spatial navigation.
2. Allow players to jog without balls to emphasize pairing up.
