Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Soccer Balls
  • Goal
  • Cones
Setup
  1. Area: 40x45 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: One goal on the baseline, with cones forming gate-like markers on either side of the goal
  3. Group: 3 black players, 1 positioned beside the goal with a ball and 2 positioned together at the opposite endline
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the 40x45 yard area boundary, plus additional cones forming gates on either side of the goal
Instructions
  1. The player beside the goal floats a pass to either of the two players at the opposite end.
  2. The receiving player uses one or two touches to set up the other player for a shot.
  3. Execute the play at speed to mimic game conditions.
  4. Rotate players after each attempt and repeat from both sides.
  5. Keep track of points based on goals scored between the posts and cones.
Coaching Points
  • Be proactive and confident with decisions.
  • Maintain clear communication among players.
  • Keep your head up to assess options.
  • Focus on pass accuracy and weight.
  • Ensure quality and varied shot execution.

  • Decide whether to shoot immediately based on ball position.
  • Aim to consistently hit the target.
  • Develop a precise first touch for better scoring opportunities.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the number of touches allowed before shooting.
2. Increase the distance of the pass to the receiving players.
Make it easier:
1. Allow unlimited touches before setting up a shot.
2. Decrease the playing area to reduce distances between players and the goal.
3. Remove the external pressure by practicing without a goalkeeper.
