Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Supply of balls
  • Two goals or markers
  • Cones/Markers to define the 30x30 yard area
Setup
  1. Area: 30x30 yard square marked with cones
  2. Goals: One goal (or markers) centred on each of two opposite ends of the square
  3. Team Red: 3 red outfield players start at their own corner of the square, with 1 stepping up as attacker to the edge of the square and 1 stepping in as defender inside the square to guard the red goal, the remaining player waiting at the corner for rotation
  4. Team Blue: 3 blue outfield players start at their own corner of the square, with 1 stepping up as attacker to the edge of the square and 1 stepping in as defender inside the square to guard the blue goal, the remaining player waiting at the corner for rotation
  5. Coach: 1 grey coach positioned outside the square with a supply of balls
  6. Equipment: Cones/markers defining the 30x30 yard square, two goals or markers positioned at opposite ends of the square
Instructions
  1. The coach passes the ball to an attacking player.
  2. The attacker attempts to dribble past the defender to score in the opposing goal.
  3. If the defender wins the ball, they attempt to pass it back to the coach.
  4. Upon a goal or turnover, the next pair of attackers and defenders enter, and the drill restarts with a new pass from the coach.

Make it easier:
1. Allow attackers to start closer to the goal.
2. Increase the playing area to 35x35 yards for more space.
3. Limit the defender's movement to a specific zone.
