  • Soccer Balls
Setup
  1. Area: 30x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: Two small gates at one pair of diagonally opposite corners for Team Red to attack/defend, two small gates at the other pair of diagonally opposite corners for Team Blue to attack/defend

  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starting on their own goal line
  5. Equipment: 4 cones marking the corners of the 30x20 area, small gates/goals set diagonally at the corners, several soccer balls placed around the area for quick restarts
Instructions
  1. Begin with each team attempting to score by dribbling (2 points) or passing (1 point) through opposite corner goals.
  2. After scoring, the scoring team retreats, allowing the opposition to begin from the goal line.
  3. No throw-ins; instead, the ball is passed in.
Coaching Points
  • Use creative angles of support to open passing lanes.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates.
  • Make decisions on when to dribble or pass based on surroundings.

  • Create and exploit space with intelligent runs.
  • Improve 1v1 skills with quick, agile movements.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area for increased pressure.
2. Limit touches to increase speed of play.
3. Introduce a neutral player who always supports the team in possession for added complexity.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the goals for easier scoring.
2. Allow more touches to reduce pressure.
3. Remove defenders to focus purely on attacking skills.
