Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones for area marking
  • Two mini goals
  • One soccer ball
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: One mini goal centred on each end line
  3. Team Red: 5 red outfield players start lined up near their own goal on one side of the area
  4. Team Blue: 5 blue outfield players start lined up near their own goal on the opposite side of the area
  5. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, one soccer ball positioned in the center of the area
Instructions
  1. Coach shouts a number or combination of numbers.
  2. Corresponding players from each team run to the center to play 1v1 or 2v2.
  3. Players aim to score in their assigned mini goal.
  4. Reinforce using close control and decision-making to protect the ball and create scoring opportunities.
  5. After a goal or a set time, reset and call new numbers.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the playing area size.
2. Allow multiple numbers to be called at once for 3v3 or 4v4.
3. Reduce the size of the mini goals.
Make it easier:
1. Reduce the playing area size.
2. Play with only 1v1 situations.
3. Allow players to pass back to teammates waiting on the sideline.
