Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls
  • Goal
  • Cones for marking the playing area
Setup
  1. Area: 40x45 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: One goal centred on one end line
  3. Group: 3 blue outfield players, 1 on the goal line beside the goal and 2 spaced evenly along the opposite end line
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 40x45 yard area, supply of balls placed next to the player on the goal line
Instructions
  1. The player near the goal starts by floating a ball to either of the two players on the opposite side.
  2. The receiving player controls the ball and sets up their partner for a shot.
  3. The second player shoots at the goal with one touch, or two if necessary.
  4. Ensure the sequence is completed quickly to simulate match conditions.
  5. Rotate roles after each attempt and practice from both sides.
Coaching Points
  • Exhibit positivity and clear communication.
  • Maintain eye contact and head up.
  • Deliver accurate and controlled passes.
  • Ensure a precise shooting technique and finish.
  • Focus on repetition and consistency.
  • Evaluate the angle and distance of support.
  • Time movements effectively as attackers.
  • Decide when to shoot immediately or take a touch.
  • Encourage creative individual and combination play.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the number of touches allowed before shooting.
2. Increase the speed of ball delivery.
3. Add a defender to apply pressure on the attackers.
Make it easier:
1. Allow more touches to control and shoot.
2. Use a larger goal to increase scoring chances.
3. Remove the goalkeeper to focus on shooting accuracy.
