Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls
  • Cones
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 red player spaced evenly within the area, with more players positioned evenly throughout the area if more than one participates
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, 1 ball per player
Instructions
  1. Use the sole of one foot to drag the ball backward.
  2. Quickly deflect the ball 90 degrees using the inside of the same foot, forming an L shape.
  3. Make a quarter turn and repeat the process with the opposite foot.
  4. Continue the sequence and aim for rhythmic motion.
  5. As players progress, gradually increase speed and integrate other ball manipulation moves.
Coaching Points
  • Keep the ball close for better control.
  • Maintain head up for awareness.
  • Focus on executing the technique correctly.
  • Increase the speed as proficiency improves.
  • Bend knees slightly for balance.
  • Stay light on feet for swift movement.
  • Develop a consistent rhythm.
  • Fluency is key to mastering the moves.
  • Gradually teach different feints and techniques.
  • Balance and coordination will enhance with practice.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the speed of execution.
2. Combine with additional dribbling moves.
3. Reduce the space to increase challenge.
Make it easier:
1. Start with a slower pace to build confidence.
2. Use a larger area for more space.
3. Practice the movement with a stationary ball.
