Instructions
- Begin the drill with an attacker from each team taking a ball from the perimeter and initiating an attack.
- Attackers aim to shoot quickly, increasing opportunities for goalkeeper saves.
- Each team uses their set of six balls; after all are used, switch roles of attackers and defenders.
- Encourage communication among goalkeepers and defenders throughout the drill.
Coaching Points
- Maintain a balanced set position on balls of feet
- Use correct footwork to move laterally and position effectively
- Communicate consistently with teammates
- Stay large and still in 1v1 situations
- Decide actions swiftly and positively
- Expect shots consistently; cover various angles
- Be confident and calm when engaging attackers

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the width of the central zone to 2 yards.
2. Increase the number of balls to eight per side.
3. Add a time limit for attacks to create faster play.
Make it easier:
1. Allow defenders a stretching zone where they can intercept earlier in the play.
2. Increase the central zone width to 4 yards for a smoother setup.
3. Reduce the number of attackers to make it a 2v2 situation.
