Equipment
- Cones for layout
- Goals or gates
- Football
- Bibs for teams
Setup
- Area: 30x20 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: One goal or gate centred on each end line
- Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts on the halfway line
- Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts on the halfway line
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 30x20 area, a goal or gate on each end line, and a football placed at the centre of the field for kickoff
Instructions
- Play regular football rules within the designated area.
- When a team scores, begin a 60-second countdown.
- If the opposing team scores within this period, the earlier goal is canceled.
- If the same team scores again inside 60 seconds, the first goal is validated immediately.
- Encourage players to focus on quick transitions and effective communication.
Coaching Points
- Maintain good communication among teammates.
- Ensure effective angles and distances of support.
- Execute quick and accurate decision-making on and off the ball.
- Improve first touch and maintain a high head position.
- Implement quick support movements.
- Adopt a positive attitude towards scoring.
- Identify and utilize passing angles and distances effectively.
- Control the ball to gain advantage in play.
- Choose the most effective passing option.
- Develop awareness of the field and teammates.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease the time allowed to score a second goal to 45 seconds.
2. Reduce the playing area to increase pressure.
3. Allow goals only from a defined 'shooting zone.'
Make it easier:
1. Extend the time limit for the second goal to 90 seconds.
2. Increase the playing area to allow more space.
3. Remove the goal cancellation rule if an opposing team scores.
