Equipment
- Cones for marking practice area
- One ball per player
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 1 player starts inside the area with one foot on the ball
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, one ball per player
Instructions
- Players push the ball forward with their instep.
- Pull the ball back with the sole of the foot.
- Quickly switch feet, repeating the movements.
- Continue the sequence: two touches with the right foot, then two with the left.
- Increase speed as skill improves.
- Add other ball manipulation moves at command.
Coaching Points
- Maintain close ball control
- Keep head up
- Focus on technique
- Execute movements swiftly
- Bend knees slightly
- Stay light on feet
- Maintain a consistent rhythm
- Increase fluency and speed over time
- Briefly glance down only when necessary
- Improve touch through enhanced ball feel
- Develop balance and coordination
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Perform movements at a higher speed.
2. Introduce additional ball manipulation techniques.
3. Combine moves upon command.
Make it easier:
1. Slow down the pace of movements.
2. Allow players to focus on stationary ball control.
3. Perform movements without switching feet initially.
