Setup
  1. Area: 20x15 yard area marked with cones, sized according to number of players
  2. Goals: One small goal centred on each end line
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts on the halfway line facing the blue goal
  4. Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the red team's goal
  5. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts on the halfway line facing the red goal
  6. Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the blue team's goal
  7. Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the playing area, bibs distinguishing red and blue teams
Instructions
  1. Start with one team in possession.
  2. Teams play without taking a touch before shooting.
  3. Encourage fast-paced play and quick shooting.
  4. Goalkeepers aim to make quick saves from one-touch shots.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain a controlled set position with forward body weight.
  • Use clear communication with teammates.
  • In 1v1, stand large but balanced.
  • Decide on actions early and maintain a positive intent.
  • Prepare for shots and cover shot angles effectively.
  • React and adjust positions quickly to anticipate play.
  • Judge the ball's flight and speed accurately.
  • Use efficient footwork to reposition for the next action.
  • Stay focused and organized under pressure.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the space available for players.
2. Limit the time allowed for shooting to increase pressure.
3. Require shots to be taken from further out, challenging both shooter and goalkeeper.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area to give players more space.
2. Allow two touches before shooting to reduce pressure.
3. Use a wider goal to increase scoring opportunities for players.
