Equipment
- 20x20 meter practice area
- Ball for each player
- Individual work spaces
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 1 player positioned in an individual work space within the area
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, 1 ball per player
Instructions
- Players begin with the ball stationary in their work space.
- Sweep the ball across the body with the inside of the foot, maintaining contact and turning three-quarters around.
- Progress to touching the ball with increased speed.
- Integrate additional moves or techniques as instructed, combining them to increase the challenge.
Coaching Points
- Maintain close control of the ball
- Keep head up with quick glances down
- Focus on the technique of the move
- Increase speed while retaining control
- Keep knees slightly bent, staying light on feet
- Improve fluency and speed gradually
- Master various techniques by learning specific moves
- Develop a feel for the ball with refined techniques
- Enhance balance and coordination
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Incorporate commands to switch techniques suddenly.
2. Combine two different ball manipulation moves in sequence.
Make it easier:
1. Practice the move at a slower pace.
2. Use a larger space to allow more movement freedom.
