Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Markers/Cones to mark the 25x25 yard area
  • Six 1-yard mini goals
  • One soccer ball
Setup
  1. Area: 25x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: Three 1-yard mini goals on each end line of the area
  3. Team Red: 4 red outfield players spaced evenly across their own half
  4. Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the end line covering their team's three mini goals
  5. Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players spaced evenly across their own half
  6. Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the end line covering their team's three mini goals
  7. Equipment: Cones marking the 25x25 yard area, six 1-yard mini goals (three positioned across each end line), one soccer ball at the centre of the area
Instructions
  1. Teams aim to score by passing the ball through one of the opponent’s mini goals.
  2. Defenders are not allowed to stand in the goals.
  3. When a goal is scored, the opposing team takes possession immediately, transitioning into attack.
  4. Encourage quick ball movement and effective positioning to create scoring opportunities.
Coaching Points
  • Emphasize communication among teammates.
  • Foster good angles and distances for support.
  • Teach effective first touches and movement.
  • Encourage a positive attitude toward the goal.
  • Focus on passing quality, accuracy, timing, and disguise.
  • Promote decision-making for pass selection and technique.
  • Encourage fast and confident passing.
  • Cultivate combination play with minimal touches.
  • Allow the game to guide player learning.
  • Develop awareness of passing options and effectiveness.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase playing area size to 30x30 yards.
2. Limit players to two-touch play.
Make it easier:
1. Reduce the number of mini goals to two per end.
2. Remove goalkeepers to simplify scoring.
3. Allow defenders to block goals, but without stepping into them.
