Equipment
- Balls (one per player)
- Cones/Markers (to form the 20x20 yard area)
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 1 player starts inside the area with a ball, spaced out to allow free movement
- Equipment: 1 ball per player, cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area
Instructions
- Begin with players dribbling around the area.
- Practice the scissors move by stepping around and over the ball.
- Spin on the standing foot towards the ball and use the inside of the other foot to turn (e.g., step with the right foot and spin clockwise, using the left foot to move the ball).
- Gradually increase speed and add disguise.
- Encourage players to decide optimally when and where to use the move.

- Maintain close control of the ball
- Keep head up while dribbling

- Execute the technique with precision
- Develop speed and fluency in the move
- Show a positive attitude towards learning
- Perform the move with bent knees for balance
- Mask the move with effective disguise

- Foster balance and coordination
- Improve comfort in 1v1 situations
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease the space to increase pressure.
2. Introduce passive defenders to challenge decision-making.
3. Increase the pace of the drill progressively.
Make it easier:
1. Start with a stationary ball to practice the technique.
2. Allow players to practice without pressure of speed initially.
3. Increase the size of the area for more space.
