Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Soccer balls
  • Cones for the boundary
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Red: 3 red outfield players spaced evenly across the 20x20 area
  3. Team Blue: 3 blue outfield players spaced evenly across the 20x20 area, interspersed with Team Red
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the four corners and boundary of the 20x20 yard area, 1 soccer ball placed in the center of the area
Instructions
  1. Both teams compete to maintain possession.
  2. Teams score a point by completing five consecutive passes without interception.
  3. If the ball goes out of bounds, possession switches to the defending team.
Coaching Points
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Maintain good angles and distances for support.
  • Make quick decisions with and without the ball.
  • Exhibit a solid first touch and keep your head up.
  • Move dynamically and support quickly.
  • Deliver precise, well-timed, and disguised passes.
  • Use body shape to shield the ball and maintain control.
  • Create space and move to receive passes.
  • Keep the ball moving and form triangles.
  • Constantly assess and choose the most effective passing options.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the grid size to increase pressure.
2. Require more than five passes to score a point.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area to reduce pressure.
2. Allow points for fewer consecutive passes.
