Equipment
  • Cones
  • Balls
Setup
  1. Area: 10x10 yard area with a 4x4 yard square marked in the center using cones
  2. Goals: None
  3. Group GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned in the center of the 4x4 yard square
  4. Coach: 4 grey servers positioned evenly around the perimeter of the 4x4 yard square, one per side
  5. Equipment: cones marking the outer 10x10 yard area and the inner 4x4 yard square, 4 balls with one held by each server
Instructions
  1. The goalkeeper starts in the center of the square and moves to face the first server.
  2. The server delivers the ball to the goalkeeper's right side.
  3. Goalkeeper performs a collapse dive to save the ball.
  4. The goalkeeper returns to the center and rotates to face the next server.
  5. Repeat the sequence, alternating sides after several rounds.
  6. Ensure adequate rest between sets.
Coaching Points
  • Ensure correct diving technique.
  • Maintain high intensity and explosive movements.
  • Encourage a positive attitude.
  • Focus on rhythm and coordination.
  • Prioritize quick footwork and recovery.
  • Review the goalkeeper’s focus and body language.
  • Use plyometric exercises to improve explosive power.
  • Monitor for safe practice and proper warm-up.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the rest time between repetitions.
2. Increase the speed and intensity of the shots.
3. Add a fifth server to increase unpredictability.
Make it easier:
1. Increase rest periods between sets.
2. Allow goalkeepers to start from a closer position to the ball.
3. Use slower, deliberate throws to assist the goalkeeper.
