- Cones to mark the playing area
- Two small goals
- Footballs
- Bibs for team differentiation
Setup
- Area: 30x25 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: One small goal centred on each end line
- Team Red: 3 red outfield players spaced evenly across their own half
- Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the red team's goal
- Team Blue: 3 blue outfield players spaced evenly across their own half
- Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the blue team's goal
- Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 30x25 yard area, two small goals centred on each end line
Instructions
- Start the game with one team in possession of the ball.
- Teams can make up to five passes before attempting to dribble past an opponent.
- If unsuccessful in the dribble, possession shifts to the opposing team.
- If the ball exits over the goal line, the goalkeeper restarts play.
- Restart play via a pass or dribble when the ball crosses the sideline. No offside rules apply.
Coaching Points
- Improve dribbling with a good first touch and head up.
- Disguise moves and maintain a positive attitude.
- Encourage quick penetration and keep the ball active.
- Reinforce awareness of passing options and space creation.
- Allow free expression with techniques like step-overs.
- Enhance supporting play after passing.
- Focus on effective 1v1 finishing against the goalkeeper.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce maximum number of passes allowed before dribbling.
2. Increase the pitch size, reducing players' space awareness.
Make it easier:
1. Allow unlimited passes before dribbling.
2. Designate zones that players must dribble through to score.
3. Reduce pitch size to limit distance covered during play.
