Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones/Markers for two areas and 18-yard zone
  • Goals at opposing ends
  • Bibs: Red, Blue, White for team differentiation
  • Balls for passing and shooting
Setup
  1. Area: 30x10 yard area and a separate 30x20 yard area, each marked with cones and featuring an 18-yard end zone at one end.
  2. Goals: One goal at each end of both areas (four goals total), with a goalkeeper only in the goal at the 18-yard end zone of each area.
  3. Team Red: 4 red defenders (2 per area) start inside the 18-yard end zone of their respective area.
  4. Team Red GK: 2 yellow goalkeepers (1 per area) positioned on the goal line of the goal at the 18-yard end zone.
  5. Team Blue: 4 blue attackers (2 per area) start in possession of the ball at the end of the area opposite the 18-yard zone.
  6. Neutral: 4 black support players (2 per area) start inside the 18-yard end zone alongside the defenders.
  7. Equipment: Cones/markers outlining both playing areas and each 18-yard end zone, one goal at each end of both areas, and balls for passing and shooting.
Instructions
  1. Begin with the attackers in possession at the end away from the goalkeeper
  2. Defenders aim to press and win the ball, then dribble to the the opposite end to the goal.
  3. Attackers aim to score by passing and creating shots, they can pass to the support players and each other
  4. An attacker is offside if they are beyond the line when the ball is passed and attackers may shoot anytime from any point.
  5. Rotate the attackers and defenders after each game.
  6. Swap groups between pitches after every few minutes.
  7. Defenders should start in their zone, Attackers start in attack zone
Coaching Points
  • Make quick decisions on and off the ball.
  • Ensure quality and timing in passing with effective disguise.
  • Maintain width, depth, and good support angles.
  • Utilize communication and mobility to attack at pace.
  • Exploit space positively as it opens.
  • Encourage inventive individual and combination plays.
  • Focus on quick technical execution.
  • Adjust attacking speed to optimize opportunities.
  • Anticipate angles and distances in support play.
  • Transition smoothly between attack and defense.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area size to increase pressing intensity.
2. Limit touches for attackers to increase challenge.
3. Increase defender numbers in one area to raise difficulty.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing areas.
2. Allow defenders a delay before entering attacking zones.
3. Remove offside application to simplify attackers' movement.
