Equipment
- 4 Soccer balls (one per corner)
- Cones for marking 35x35 area
- Additional cones for 10x10 corner areas
Setup
- Area: 35x35 yard area marked with cones, with a 10x10 yard zone marked in each of the four corners
- Group: 12 players, split into four groups of 3, one group positioned in each 10x10 corner zone
- Equipment: Cones marking the 35x35 outer area, additional cones marking each 10x10 corner zone, 4 soccer balls with one placed in each corner zone
Instructions
- Players perform quick, one-touch passes within their corner area.
- On the coach's signal, players execute a diagonal ball switch to the opposite corner.
- After switching balls, players resume quick passing in their corner.
- Ensure passes are precise and purposeful, avoiding interference with balls from other groups.
Coaching Points
- Encourage effective communication.
- Maintain good support angles and distances.
- Make early decisions, both on and off the ball.
- Keep your head up for better awareness.
- Focus on movement and creating space.
- Use quality passes with accuracy and timing.
- Select appropriate pass techniques based on the situation.
- Use correct body shape to receive passes.
- Don't force passes; keep the ball moving smoothly.
- Use the inside of the foot for receiving and passing.
- Be aware of spatial positions and pass options.
- Enhance decision-making skills and spatial awareness.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the distance between the corner areas.
2. Introduce one defensive player in each corner area to apply pressure.
Make it easier:
1. Allow two-touch combinations instead of one-touch.
2. Increase the size of the corner areas to 12x12 yards.
