- Soccer balls (one per player)
- 8 cones to define the 20x20 area
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 1 black player starts with a ball, spaced evenly inside the area from other players
- Equipment: 8 cones marking the corners/sides of the 20x20 area, 1 soccer ball per player
Instructions
- Begin with players practicing the 'Outside Hook' on a stationary ball.
- Progress to dribbling while performing the move with both feet.
- Increase speed and introduce feints to add disguise.
- Encourage players to decide when to perform the move during dynamic scenarios.
- Transition into small-sided games where players use the skill in realistic contexts.
Coaching Points
- Focus on quick acceleration after the turn.
- Maintain close ball control throughout.
- Use disguise to mislead defenders.
- Keep head up to enhance vision.
- Execute the move with a positive, confident mindset.
- Perfect technique using the outside of the foot.
