Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones for marking boundaries and scoring zones
  • 3 Footballs
Setup
  1. Area: 25x25 yard area marked with cones, containing six 5x5 yard scoring zones marked inside
  2. Team Red: 1 red outfield player (defender) starts positioned around the perimeter of the main area, outside the scoring zones
  3. Team Blue: 2 blue outfield players (attackers) start positioned around the perimeter of the main area, outside the scoring zones, starting with the footballs
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the outer 25x25 yard boundary and the six 5x5 yard scoring zones inside, 3 footballs given to the attacking team
Instructions
  1. The attacking team must pass at least once before a player can dribble into a scoring zone.
  2. Attacking players turn and carry the ball into a scoring zone to score.
  3. Defenders aim to intercept and win the ball, scoring a point upon successful interception.
Coaching Points
  • Use the correct turning technique for each situation.
  • Maintain close ball control when dribbling.
  • Keep your head up to assess space, teammates, and opponents.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and keep the ball moving.
  • Use different dribbling techniques to build confidence.
  • Increase speed as skills improve.
  • Focus on teamwork and communication.
  • Quickly change direction to avoid opponents.
  • Develop spatial awareness.
  • Achieve fluency through consistent practice.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the scoring zones.
2. Limit the number of touches before entering a scoring zone.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow unlimited touches before entering a scoring zone.
