  • Bibs
  • Ample ball supply
  • 4 large cones
  • 4 corner goals
Setup
  1. Area: 60x60 yard square field with one goal set up in each corner
  2. Goals: One small goal in each of the four corners of the area
  3. Group: 16 outfield players split into four groups of four, each group starting at a different corner goal (A, B, C, D)
  4. Equipment: 4 large cones arranged in slalom/dribbling patterns at each corner goal station, bibs distributed to distinguish the four groups, ample supply of balls placed at each goal area
Instructions
  1. Assign each group to a different corner goal (A, B, C, D).
  2. Group A: Weave through cones in a slalom, then shoot.
  3. Group B: Dribble with lateral touches through cones, then shoot.
  4. Group C: Pass around a cone, sprint after it, then shoot.
  5. Group D: Perform tight cone turns, then shoot.
  6. Rotate groups through all stations.
Coaching Points
  • Use quick, light touches for optimal dribbling control.
  • Prioritize accuracy in lateral movements and changes of direction.
  • Encourage quick acceleration during sprints and sharp turns.
  • Focus on maintaining composure and executing skills under pressure.
  • Aim for precise and powerful shots immediately after the dribble.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Shorten the space between cones to increase difficulty.
2. Add defenders at each station for extra pressure.
3. Specify using the weaker foot for certain turns or shots.
4. Reduce the size of the goals for accuracy testing.
Make it easier:
1. Increase cone spacing for easier navigation.
2. Allow players to restart freely after any mistakes.
3. Use larger goals to make shooting easier.
4. Encourage slower dribbling to better develop control.
