Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard square marked with cones
- Group: 5 players, 4 positioned one at each corner of the square and 1 as a wall player in the center, Player 1 starting with the ball
- Equipment: cones marking the 4 corners of the 20x20 yard square, additional cones marking a 5-yard gate in the middle of the square for passing
Instructions
- Player 1 passes to Player 2.
- Player 2 completes a one-two with the wall player, then sends the ball through the gate to Player 3.
- Player 3 repeats the one-two with the wall player and passes to Player 4.
- Continue the sequence and rotate the wall player frequently.
Coaching Points
- Maintain constant communication.
- Position with good angles and distances for support.
- Make sure first touch is controlled.
- Keep your head up to observe options.
- Use quick, precise passes.
- Move to avail passing lanes promptly.
- Ensure passes are accurate, well-timed, and sometimes disguised.
- Adopt a light-footed stance to react quickly.
- Support the ball holder without delay.
- Shape your body to receive and pass effectively.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to 15x15 yards.
2. Limit players to one-touch passes only.
3. Introduce a defender to shadow the wall player.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the area to 25x25 yards.
2. Allow two touches per player.
3. Remove the gate to simplify passing options.
