Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones
  • Balls
Setup
  1. Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 4 players positioned one per line, with the four lines evenly spaced facing the centre of the square (one line on each side of the area)
  3. Equipment: 4 cones marking the corners of the 30x30 area, 2 balls held by the first players in two adjacent lines
Instructions
  1. The first player in a line with a ball passes to the opposite player.
  2. After passing, each player moves to the back of the line on their left.
  3. Continue the sequence with players rotating and passing.
  4. Encourage quick and accurate passing.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain clear communication between players.
  • Use a good first touch to control the ball.
  • Keep the head up to observe options.
  • Use effective movement to support the pass.
  • Deliver accurate, well-timed, and disguised passes.
  • Stay light on foot to adjust quickly.
  • Ensure body shape is open to receive pass.
  • Use both feet to enhance adaptability.
  • Play fast, confident passes to maintain flow.
  • Execute weighty passes to suit the distance.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the grid size to 25x25 yards.
2. Limit players to a maximum of two touches.
3. Introduce a defender to intercept passes.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the grid size to 35x35 yards.
2. Allow an unlimited number of touches.
3. Allow a moment to stop before passing.
