Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • - Cones for boundary marking
  • - Flags or bibs for each player
Setup
  1. Area: 30x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 2 black players start spaced evenly within the area, each with a flag tucked into the back of their shorts
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners and boundary of the 30x20 yard area, 1 flag or bib per player tucked into the back of their shorts
Instructions
  1. Players move within the area, attempting to snatch the flags from others.
  2. Upon capturing a flag, players hold onto it.
  3. Players who lose their flag continue playing and attempt to capture others.
  4. The game concludes when all flags are captured.
  5. Count the flags; the winner is the one with the most.
Coaching Points
  • Ensure frequent hydration.
  • Encourage effective communication among players.
  • Progressively increase activity intensity.
  • Focus on players' first touch, movement, and body language.
  • Start the activity gradually and ensure a proper warm-up.
  • Highlight the role of warm-ups in raising heart rate and muscle temperature.
  • Link warm-ups to the main session for relevance.
  • Reinforce the importance of preparing both body and mind.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the area size to increase difficulty.
2. Require players to maintain possession of the ball while capturing others' flags.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area to reduce congestion.
2. Allow tagged players to recover their flags from the sidelines to rejoin the game.
3. Use teams to share flag capturing, reducing individual pressure.
