Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Soccer balls (one per player)
  • Cones to define playing area
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 red outfield player starts inside the area with a ball, dribbling freely
  3. Coach: 1 grey coach positioned at the edge of the area acting as ring leader, calling out body parts
  4. Equipment: 4 cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard playing area, one soccer ball per player inside the area
Instructions
  1. Players dribble around the area using their feet.
  2. The coach calls out a body part (e.g., hand, bottom, elbow).
  3. Players must use the mentioned body part to stop or control the ball.
  4. Rotate the ring leader role among players as desired.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage constant player participation
  • Maintain spatial awareness and safe distancing
  • Promote close ball control
  • Foster enjoyment and ensure age-appropriateness
  • Allow the game to be the primary teacher
  • Practice controlling the ball with various parts of the foot
  • Understand spatial positioning
  • Adjust speed while dribbling
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase difficulty.
2. Call out body parts more frequently to challenge players.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area to allow more space for control.
2. Allow additional time for players to use the called body part to control the ball.
