Equipment
  • Goals
  • Cones
  • Balls
Setup
  1. Area: 70x45 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: One goal centred on each end line, each with a goalkeeper
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starting in their own half
  4. Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the red team's goal
  5. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starting in their own half
  6. Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the blue team's goal
  7. Equipment: Cones marking the four corners and boundary of the 70x45 yard pitch, one goal positioned on each end line
Instructions
  1. Players start within their halves and maintain possession by running with the ball.
  2. Encourage players to carry the ball upfield, using space effectively.
  3. Players can take a shot once in range of the goal.
  4. Ball can only move forward through dribbling or shooting.
Coaching Points
  • Use laces for effective ball control.
  • Maintain stride and minimize touches.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates.
  • Advance quickly to exploit open space.
  • Ensure quality in passes and shots.
  • Prepare body shape to run forward.
  • Keep head up to enhance spatial awareness.
  • Understand when to dribble versus run with the ball.
  • Recognize the right time to exploit space.
  • Freeze play if necessary to demonstrate techniques.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce available space by narrowing the pitch.
2. Limit the number of touches allowed per player.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the pitch size for more running space.
2. Allow one forward pass per possession.
