  • One ball per player
  • Cones to define the 20x20 yard area
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player spaced evenly across the area with a ball
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area
Instructions
  1. Players dribble within the area using small, controlled touches.
  2. On command, players imitate their chosen animal's noise and actions while maintaining ball control.
  3. Encourage loud and exaggerated animal impressions.
  4. After a brief period, return to focused dribbling.
  5. Repeat the animal imitation and dribbling sequence as needed.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage players consistently.
  • Emphasize space awareness and keeping their own area.
  • Focus on close control and using different parts of the foot.
  • Prioritize player enjoyment and fun.
  • Facilitate over instructing - the game should teach.
  • Ensure the session is age-appropriate and all players are active.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area to challenge dribbling control in tight spaces.
2. Introduce specific dribbling moves to perform when imitating animals.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area for more space.
2. Allow players to walk with the ball instead of dribbling.
3. Direct players to slower-paced animal movements for easier control.
