Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Soccer balls (one per player)
  • Cones to define the playing area
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 2 players, one ball each, spaced evenly throughout the area
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, one soccer ball per player
Instructions
  1. Players dribble their ball within the area, maintaining close control.
  2. Players attempt to knock other players' balls out of the area while protecting their own.
  3. Once a player's ball is knocked out, that player is out of the game.
  4. The last remaining player inside the area is declared the 'King of the Pitch'.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage positive reinforcement for all players.
  • Players should be aware of space and other players around them.
  • Emphasize maintaining close control using different parts of the foot.
  • Allow the game to facilitate learning naturally.
  • Engage all players and ensure the game is enjoyable.
  • Foster enjoyment and understanding of the game.
  • Enable players to develop spatial awareness.
  • Introduce varying ball speeds for better control.
  • Keep the activity age-appropriate and relevant.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease the size of the playing area to increase difficulty.
2. Introduce a time limit for the last player to be determined.
3. Allow players to juggle as a defensive tactic.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area to provide more space.
2. Allow players out of the game to resume dribbling from the sidelines.
3. Slow down the pace by allowing players additional touches before knocking balls out.
