Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls (one per player)
  • Cones for playing area boundaries
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones, adjusted based on number of players
  2. Group: 1 red outfield player spaced evenly across the area with one ball
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners/boundaries of the 20x20 yard area, one ball per player inside the area
Instructions
  1. Players dribble their balls within the marked area, maintaining control.
  2. On the coach's command, players must stop their balls using their feet as quickly as possible.
  3. Players then move to another ball and gently sit on it.
  4. The last player to sit on a ball performs three gentle toe taps on their ball.
  5. Repeat the drill.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage players consistently.
  • Maintain awareness of space within the area.
  • Focus on close ball control.
  • Ensure the session is enjoyable and age-appropriate.
  • Promote participation and engagement by all players.
  • Use various foot parts for ball control.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Introduce a time limit to stop the ball.
3. Increase the pace of the players between commands.

2. Allow more time for players to stop the ball.
3. Reduce the number of players sharing the space.
