Equipment
- Goal
- Goalkeeper
- Soccer balls
- Cones for marking the area
Setup
- Area: 40x45 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: One goal at one end of the area
- Group: 3 outfield players start with two in the middle of the area and one on the end line holding the ball
- Group GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line at the goal end
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners and boundaries of the 40x45 yard area
Instructions
- The end-line player passes to the furthest middle player.
- The receiving player takes one or two touches to set up the second player.
- The second middle player runs to shoot at goal.
- Ensure actions are performed with speed for realism.
- Rotate players after each attempt and repeat from both sides.
Coaching Points
- Encourage positive play and effective communication.
- Keep the head up to observe opportunities.
- Ensure high-quality passing and finishing.
- Maintain consistency with repetition.
- Focus on technique and hitting the target consistently.
- Assess support angles and player positioning.
- Timing and movement into the shot are critical.
- Decide when to shoot first-time or control.
- Coach different shooting methods for varied scenarios.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease available space.
2. Increase defensive pressure with an extra defender.
Make it easier:
1. Allow more touches when setting up the shot.
2. Use a larger goal area to increase scoring probability.
