Instructions

  3. Other players move to finish the cross.
  4. Wide players switch with strikers after crossing.
  5. Rotate roles to ensure all players participate.
Coaching Points
  • Deliver crosses with accuracy and execute effectively.
  • Communicate with teammates for coordination.
  • Decide optimal crossing positions and target areas.
  • Time crosses well to coordinate runs into the box.
  • Use a good first touch if needed.
  • Move purposefully and with good technique.
  • Keep your head up to assess passing options.
  • Coordinate movement to cover all attacking zones.
  • Ensure precision and speed of the pass from flank players.
  • Use different types of crosses as needed (lofted, driven, near/far post, pullback).
  • Time and coordinate runs from midfielders effectively.
  • Maintain good tempo through combination plays.
  • Observe and execute technical movements accurately.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Limit the number of touches flank players can take.
2. Require both flank players to be involved before crossing.
3. Add a floating defender to pressure the wide player.
Make it easier:
1. Allow more time for flank players to deliver crosses.
2. Remove channels and allow open play on flanks.
3. Increase size of channels to give flank players more space.
