Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls
  • Cones or Poles
Setup
  1. Area: 16x16 yard area marked with cones at each corner
  2. Group: 4 players, one positioned at each side of the area (start of each line), each holding a ball
  3. Equipment: 4 cones marking the corners of the area, 1 cone or pole placed in the center of the area
Instructions
  1. On the coach's signal, the first player from each line dribbles towards the center cone.
  2. Players perform a turn around the center cone and pass the ball to the next player in their line.
  3. After passing, players return to the back of their respective lines.
  4. The sequence repeats with the next player in line.
  5. Encourage high quality and intensity in actions to mimic game situations.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close ball control while dribbling.
  • Keep your head up to be aware of surroundings.
  • Practice turns with both feet to become versatile.
  • Utilize disguise and clever turns to outmaneuver opponents.
  • Turn with a clear purpose, either to protect the ball or exploit space.
  • Accelerate quickly after turning to gain an advantage.
  • Emphasize different dribbling techniques for confidence.
  • Develop the ability to reverse or change direction rapidly.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase difficulty.
2. Limit players to using only their non-dominant foot.
3. Introduce passive defenders around the center cone.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area for more space.
2. Allow players more time to turn and pass.
3. Use additional cones to guide dribbling paths more clearly.
