Setup

Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones
Team Red: 1 red outfield player starting with a ball, positioned anywhere within the area
Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starting with a ball, positioned anywhere within the area
Neutral: 1 black outfield player (third team) starting with a ball, positioned anywhere within the area
Equipment: cones marking the corners of the 30x30 yard area, plus extra soccer balls scattered around the area for quick restarts

Instructions

Players pass the ball only to players on other teams.
Progress to passing within their own team, then performing an overlap before passing to a different team's player.
Next, introduce a wall pass within their own team before passing to another color team's player.
Increase the intensity as players become more comfortable with the drill.

Coaching Points

Encourage regular hydration breaks.
Emphasize good communication among players.
Gradually increase the intensity.
Focus on proper technique in passing and receiving.
Ensure movements are smooth, and players are actively looking to receive passes.
Keep the warm-up relevant to the main session.
Monitor players for a positive body language and focus.
The drill should be fun and challenging to encourage player engagement.

Variations

Make it harder:

1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase pressure.

2. Limit the number of touches each player can take before passing.

3. Introduce a time limit for each sequence of passes.

Make it easier:

1. Increase the playing area size to allow more space.

2. Allow players to pass within their own team without additional constraints.

3. Remove the overlap and wall pass requirements, focusing just on passing to different teams.
