Equipment
- 10 Cones
- 2 Soccer Balls
- Stopwatch
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area
- Team Red: 3 red outfield players start lined up on their own end line
- Team Blue: 3 blue outfield players start lined up on the opposite end line
- Equipment: 10 cones total, 5 set up as targets across each end line, 2 soccer balls (one per team), stopwatch to track the time period
Instructions
- Teams aim to knock over opponent's cones by striking the ball.
- After knocking over a cone, the player retrieves it, completes a lap, and places it back.
- Continue play for a set time period; the team with the most cones knocked over wins.
- Track scores; assign a physical exercise as forfeit to the losing team.
Coaching Points
- Encourage accurate and powerful ball striking.
- Stress the importance of quick ball movement.
- Ensure activity levels suit players' age and fitness.
- Maintain high-quality ball control under pressure.
- Adapt workload to avoid fatigue and promote recovery.
- Plan training to challenge aerobic capacity effectively.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase area size to 25x25 yards.
2. Decrease cone size to increase challenge.
Make it easier:
1. Reduce area size to 15x15 yards.
2. Allow only partial laps for recovery.
