Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones for marking the area
  • One ball per player (except for Piranhas)
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player starts with a ball, positioned inside the marked area
  3. Neutral: 2 black Piranha players start inside the marked area without balls
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the corners/perimeter of the 20x20 yard area, one ball per player except the Piranhas
Instructions
  1. Players with balls dribble around the area, avoiding Piranhas.
  2. Piranhas try to tag players with balls.
  3. If tagged three times, a player becomes a Piranha.
  4. Players with balls can step outside the area for up to five seconds.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage players to maintain close ball control.
  • Develop spatial awareness by observing surroundings.
  • Use different parts of the foot for control.
  • Vary dribbling speed effectively.
  • Allow the game to guide learning and decision-making.
  • Ensure players are actively involved and having fun.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Increase the number of Piranhas.
3. Limit the time players can stay outside the area.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow longer breaks outside the playing area.
3. Decrease the number of Piranhas.
